This is an excellent book. Most of the projects described are demanding in time, tools and materials.

101 toys children can make, Robert and Katharine Kunz, Gramercy Publishing Company, 1959 -- Has some good ideas for things to make for those 8 to 10 years old. No special tools needed. Only common household materials are required.

You may want to try a few of the projects.
