Puzzle answer

Think of what would happen if the journeys were made by two men on the same day. Both start at 2:00 p.m. One goes up the mountain and the other travels down. You know that when they pass on the path they will be at about the same place at the same time. What if the two journeys are made on different days? Is there still one place on the path reached by both travelers at the same time of day?

Yup. Think of this. Suppose there is a spy satellite making a tape of  the journey up the mountain. The next day at 2:00 the tape is played back and viewed on a television screen. A live view of the traveler from the satellite as he  makes his way down the mountain is shown on a second television screen that is placed beside the first tv. The two pictures then show the same time of day. At some time the traveler will be at the same place on the trail in both screens.
