What to do for fun
Unusual dress up --
Schedule a time when you and your family will hold a dress up party. Set the time a couple of weeks away so everyone has plenty of time to get ready and to come up with ideas on how to dress up. Maybe make a poster for the refrigerator to remind every one of the upcoming event. Decide on the theme of the dress up. Does each person dress up whatever way they want to? Will the goal be to look as weird and unusual as possible? Should each person pick a fictional character and dress to look like that character? You could decide to wear the most formal clothes you have? If you can't agree on a theme, perhaps more than one dress up party could be scheduled so that each person gets to try their ideas. Another possiblity is that each family member could choose which parties to dress up for and not dress up for all parties.
If you dress to look unusual using whatever ways you can think of, then here are some ideas: Put a very large colorful handkerchief on your head by tying two of its corners together. Or wear the most unusual hat that you can find. Attach something to the hat such as a large feather, a playing card or a model of a bird or mouse. Wear a silk scarf or large handkerchief around your neck. Put on clothes that are very colorful such as a Hawaian shirt. Wear something that you normally don't wear. That could be jewelry, sunglasses, suspenders, a vest, makeup or anything that's not really unusual but that you normally don't wear. Wear things that don't go together such as sandals and a tie. Wear a name tag with either your name or some other name on it. Use a safety pin to attach a picture from a magazine to your shirt or blouse. Or you could glue the picture to thin cardboard and wear it as a medalion necklace using string. Go to a party shop and buy colored hair spray and face paint.
And to get everyone together, the party could include the evening meal and a game such as Scrabble, Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit, a group crossword puzzle or a card game. Or rent a movie to watch.
