What to do for fun
Enjoy nature --
Parks, nature reserves and nature centers can provide a wide range of experiences in observing wild animals and plants. Take a walking tour on your own or sign up for a guided tour if one is offered. You may be able to take part in a class or presentation. Some nature centers have exhibits such as a colony of bees in a glass case or aquariums.
Large cities offer zoos. Museums may have dramatic displays of live insects. Or there may be an exhibit where you push a button to hear the sound of an animal. Some large nature centers may have a greenhouse or perhaps a butterfly garden. There may be a class in such things as bird watching or rock and fossil identification.
Reading can satify curiousity as well as stimulate interest in nature. Libraries typically have books, magazines and vcr tapes providing much information on nature. Television documentaries can be particularly enjoyable.
Take notice of the aspects of nature around you. Even in cities, plants and animals occupy whatever space is available and suits their needs.
