Things to do for fun

when circumstances and your mood are right:
--Take a walk in a park. Maybe use a shallow stream as a walkway if the weather
is warm. Stop to look at anything that catches your interest.
--Take a 1 or 2 hour drive through the most undeveloped area to be found.
--Cook something for the fun of it and enjoy it as part of a meal.
--Play frisbee.
--Watch a favorite tv show or rent a video to watch.
--Have a small party. Buy some pre-made pizza crusts, pizza or spaghetti
sauce, and toppings (sausage, pepperoni, cheese, mushrooms, etc.) Have each
person make half of a pizza with whatever toppings they like. Bake the pizzas
and enjoy.
--Check out a bookstore.
--See a movie.
--Use a notebook to start a favorite recipes book.
--Take a one-day class at a local community center or college. A class may
be available on painting, photography, sailing, dancing or some other enjoyable
subject.
--Rollerblade or rollerskate.
--Visit the zoo.
--Bike ride.
--Explore/observe a natural habitat.
--Go fishing.
--Play basketball, bowl, pool, tennis or other sport.
--Buy a soft pretzel and eat it as a meal when on the go.
--Go to a flea market.
--Go to a fair or amusement park.
--Divide up 40 or more pennies with a friend or loved one. Go to a wishing
well. Take turns saying a wish and tossing a penny.
--Shop or browse at a store that interests you.
--After the sun goes down turn off all the lights and listen to a cd of nature
sounds.
--Rent a small boat and take a cruise.
--Make a campfire and cook something as part of a meal.
--Tour a nearby park.
--Camp out in the backyard , garage or your living room.
--Sit and watch the sun set or rise. Or watch and listen to the water
in a creek.
--Listen to music.
--Enjoy the view from a lookout tower , the observation area of a tall building
or a lookout view at a scenic area.
--Go canoeing or rafting on a lake or creek.
--Go for a walk through a woods, along the beach at sunset or through the
neighborhood.
--Have a cookout.
--Walk in the rain on a warm summer day.
--Design and build some sort of gadget or gizmo.
--Go shopping at a greenhouse: even better in the winter.
--Visit a state or national park or forest.
--Try to look at something as if seeing it for the first time.
--Have a picnic
at sunrise or any other time.
--Do a slow tour of a botanical garden.
--See a planetariun show.
--Enjoy an overlook view of your city.
--Wander along following a creek, examining whatever catches your interest.
--Have a root beer float.
--Take plenty of time examining a science center.
--Go sightseeing in a nearby town.
--Take in a hog calling contest.
--Go horseback riding.
--Find something to do by checking out a local visitors center.
--Go mountain biking.
--Take something apart that doesn't work and try to fix it.
--Play ping-pong.
--Pitch and catch.
--See a craft festival. Maybe get an idea for your own hobby.
--Do miniature golf.
--Go berry picking then make a pie, cobbler or other recipe using the fruit.
--Sculpt something out of snow: snowman, gigantic owl, penguin, igloo or
tunnels .
--Make a model sailboat and watch it being pushed by the wind.
--Look through newspapers and magazines for a picture or article to put in
a scrapbook.
--Doodle or sketch.
--Turn off all the lights and watch a thunderstorm.
--Visit a museum or an art gallery.
--Go down the giant slide ride.
